I bought a "banger" last year a V reg Saxo diesel and thought it would
last me a few months while I look for something better, its done
127,000 miles I have done 8000 miles of that and Im getting 60+ mpg.
The Saxo just plods on without any trouble, I have been offered £600
against a new matiz does this seem about right - good or bad?

Would I be better to keep the Saxo until spring - am sure it will last
the winter out?

Any comments on cheap new cars which to avoid - Im looking for high mpg
thats why I was looking a the matiz.

i would think you would get a grand if advertised on ebay or similar.... as
px figure i would say thats about right...the matiz isnt a very relable car
though as ive replaced at least 3 engines as there a bit weak...

Thanks Dave
Thought it was a low offer, he was honest enough to say that he didn't
have a lot of profit in the matiz. There are so many small cars out
there I dont know where to start
I ve looked on the net at, Ford Ka, Citroen's and thought this may be a
good place to get some honest opinions. My main concern is mpg as I
will be doing a lot of mileage next year.
I could not find a comparison website for mpg for new cars so I guess
its down to the newsagent.

Keep the Saxo until something breaks that's not economical to repair.
