I have a Renault Megane 1.6 for sale, its N reg, MOT until
April 2007 and Tax until the end of this month. It has a dent
in the middle of the bonnet where the lad drove into the front
of the garage and as such does not shut properly, ideally it
needs a new bonnet. Dent in the tailgate as well, but it drives
very well with two brand new tyres on the front.

Clean and tidy inside, 120k miles with stamped service history
in the book up to 103k and serviced by l;ocal guy since.

£250

Christ! How does he get insured? So do you have everything to show it has
been serviced in the last 17000 miles? Is this 17,000 miles the time you
have owned it as that usually suggests it has not been looked after with
some people. It would not add anything to the value now, it's worth about
£40 if someone wanted to buy a new boot and bonnet!
I would cut your losses and get paid to have it taken away. With current
MOT you will probably get £40 minimum.
It bugs me

There's nothing more entertaining than some fool with an opinion on something they
know nothing about.

That's worth £250 all day, no matter how shabby it is. If it drives ok and
has plenty of mot it'll easily get that.

Paul, you appear to know less about cars than you do about snipping sigs.
Please leave the newsgroups to the grown ups.

I have known the car for some three years, i also personally know
the Mechanic who has serviced it who has his own garage service
business and did this for 'cash' as it was.

The boot does not need changing, i just mentioned that it
had a dent in it, works perfectly well.

Thanks for your generous offer, at this time i will decline it but if i get
strapped for the odd £40 i will contact you.

The best thing to do with Paul is to laugh at him - check out his
contribution to the thread "
Car insurance for young drivers, can you recommend a company?" in

alt.consumers.uk-discounts.and.bargains

He`s convinced that a learner driver is as good as spotting hazards and
reacting to them as a trained advanced driver, and seems to think that
accidents always just happen, there is nothing that anyone can do about
them. I`m sure that the people here who have driving experience, and
advanced training, know just how much can be avoided with good observations.

Just thought i`d let you know that this person really is the tool he seems
to be!
